Newly revised for 2001, NFPA 306 specifies safety requirements for areas on marine vessels that carry or burn as fuel any of the following: flammable or combustible liquids, flammable compressed gases, or chemicals in bulk.
You'll work smarter and safer with important changes including:
- New standard safety designation "Atmosphere Safe for Workers"
- Change in the requirement for Marine Chemists to test and inspect spaces adjacent to cold work tanks
- New requirement for the competent person to retest spaces certified by a Marine Chemist at least every 24 hours
- New definition for a "facility"
- Added a definition of "combustible material"
- Added a definition of "flammable liquid" and "combustible liquid" to conform with NFPA 30
